Farm manager job opportunity. We are currently seeking a full-time Farm Manager to join and lead operations on a 130-cow, spring-calving, grass-based dairy farm located near Abbeyleix, Co. Laois

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about pasture-based dairying and animal health, who is looking to take the next step in their career on a modern and well-run family farm - with the added bonus of involvement in a small agricultural contracting business and tractor sales operation based on the farm. The Role: • Day-to-day management of herd, grass, and general farm operations • Milking, calving, breeding management, and grass measuring/planning • Coordinating part-time help and liaising with contractors • Ensuring high standards of animal health, welfare, and hygiene • Record-keeping and reporting to farm owner • Optional involvement in the farm’s small contracting business and machinery sales The Farm: • 130 High EBI Friesian cows • Fully spring-calving, grass-based system • Modern 12-unit fullwood parlour with automatic cluster removers and dumpline. • Integrated censortec collars and Alfco automatic drafting unit. • Excellent infrastructure, paddock system, and grazing management • Focus on soil health, fertility, and sustainable practices The Ideal Candidate Will Have: • Previous experience in a similar role or strong dairy farming background • Competency in grassland management and pasture-based systems • Good stockmanship and understanding of herd health and fertility • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions • Reliability, attention to detail, and a positive attitude • Full driving licence; machinery experience an advantage What’s on Offer: • Competitive salary based on experience • Regular time off and flexible work structure • Supportive working environment with opportunity for growth and development • Potential for long-term role with increased responsibility 📍 Location: Abbeyleix, Co.
