Farm Assistant

New Zealand dairy farm opportunity We are looking for a farm assistant for an Irish run dairy farm in New Zealand. The farm is situated in Invercargill which is in the South Island, Invercargill is a rural city and has lots of social and sporting facilities. There is even an Irish pub. The farm is located on the outskirts of Invercargill. We milk 850 cows through a 50 bale rotary shed, the shed has automatic cup removers, in shed feeding and a protrack drafting system. There is a calving barn on the farm and all cows are calved inside. The farm is really well laid out and kept to a very high standard. We start calving at the end of July and should be finished by end of September. We are looking for someone who loves farming and wants to grow their dairy farm knowledge and experience. The role will include: Bringing in cows for milking Helping to milk cows Picking up calves Helping to draft cows Weed killing Helping with animal dosing and other general farm jobs. We are looking for someone who wants to grow their career in the dairy farm industry. You will need a full drivers license. Accommodation is provided on farm, all the houses are off a very high standard and recently refurbished. Accommodation is provided free with the job, you will just need to pay your electric bill. We operate a 10 on, 4 off roster so you will have plenty of time to explore New Zealand. We are only 2.5hours from Dunedin and Queenstown. You will be working approximately 50 hours per week.
